GPhC revalidation basics

Updated Sun, 14 Jun 2026

Every registered pharmacist completes revalidation each year as part of staying on the GPhC register. It's about showing you keep your practice up to date and reflect on it.

What you submit each year

The GPhC framework asks for a set of records each year, typically:

  • Four CPD records (at least some planned).
  • One reflective account against the standards.
  • One peer discussion.

Always check the current requirements and submission window on the GPhC website, as the framework can change.

Make it a habit, not a panic

  • Jot down learning as it happens rather than scrambling at renewal.
  • Tag each record against the relevant standard.
  • For the peer discussion, line up a colleague early. (A peer-matching feature is planned for a later release.)

A built-in CPD logger is on our roadmap to make this easier.

Where to get proper guidance

This is a general summary. The GPhC is the definitive source for what you must submit and by when.

General information only — not financial, tax, or legal advice. Always check official sources (GOV.UK, HMRC, GPhC) and consult a qualified professional about your own situation.
