Your Tax page turns the shifts and expenses you've already logged into a running picture of what you might owe — so your Self Assessment bill never comes as a surprise.
What the tax estimate does for you#
Nothing on this page is filed, paid or sent anywhere. It's a guide that helps you set money aside as you earn it, built entirely from data you've already entered.
A guide, not advice
Every figure here is an estimate and general guidance — not tax advice. Confirm anything that matters on GOV.UK or with an accountant before you act on it.

How the estimate builds up#
Each figure is assembled from your logged activity, step by step.
- 1
Start with turnover
Your turnover is the income from your logged shifts, plus any mileage billed on your invoices. The more diligently you log shifts, the more complete this is.
- 2
Subtract your expenses
Expenses are the business costs you've recorded, plus the HMRC mileage allowance. Keep these current by claiming expenses and mileage.
- 3
Land on net profit
Net profit is simply turnover minus expenses — the figure your tax is actually worked out on.
- 4
Work out the tax due
From your profit, the page calculates Income Tax and Class 4 National Insurance, plus a student-loan repayment if you've set a plan in the salary calculator.
- 5
Get your headline figure
Add those together and you get To set aside — the single number to move into savings as you earn.
Tip
The sharper your inputs, the sharper your estimate. Diligent shift logging and expense claims are what make the projection trustworthy.
Your live estimate: two views#
The Your live tax estimate card shows a badge telling you how far through the tax year you are, plus a toggle between two ways of looking at the same data:
Tax on what you've actually earned so far this tax year — no guesswork, just the figures already logged.
The badge and projection track the tax year as it unfolds, so the view shifts from "actuals only" early on to a confident full-year picture later.

The adjustable set-aside rate#
Under the estimate is a small form: Set aside [ ] % of each invoice for tax, with a Save button.
Pharmosphere suggests a percentage from your own projection, and that figure shows on each invoice you create — a prompt to move your own money into savings as soon as a payment comes in.
Key takeaway
Pharmosphere never holds, sends or moves money, and never contacts the pharmacy. The set-aside rate is a reminder for you to shift your own money into savings — you do it yourself.
Prefer a rounder, more cautious figure? Type your own rate and select Save — it becomes your custom rate everywhere.
