Where colleagues actually help#
The community is where you post the things that don't fit a search box: rates in your area, tricky shift situations, who to chase an umbrella company about. Post once, and other verified locum pharmacists respond.
Verified members only
Posting is open to GPhC-verified members only, so you're talking to real, registered pharmacists — not anonymous strangers. If your account isn't verified yet, arrange that first via your profile.
Agree to the guidelines (first time only)#
The very first time you visit, you'll see a Community guidelines card. Read the short list, tick "I've read the guidelines and will post in line with GPhC social-media guidance", then choose Agree & continue.
You only do this once. Afterwards the guidelines stay one click away under Community guidelines & GPhC social-media guidance at the top of the page.
Start a discussion#

Open the community
Go to /community — the feed of open threads.

Open the composer
Select Start a discussion… to open the composer.

Add a title and body
Give it a clear title, then write your post in the body. A specific title gets more replies than a vague one.

Format with the toolbar
Use the toolbar to format: Bold, Italic, Strikethrough, Code, Link, List and Quote. There's an emoji picker too.

Check the preview
Switch to the Preview tab to see exactly how it will look, then back to Write to adjust it.

Post it
Choose Post discussion and your post goes live.
Reply, react and upvote#
Open any thread and select Reply to add your reply with the same composer — replies can nest, so conversations stay threaded.
To show appreciation without typing, select React and pick an emoji (thumbs up, heart, celebrate, praise, insightful). The arrow beside each post lets you Upvote it — upvoting useful answers moves them up the feed for the next person.

You'll need to have accepted the guidelines first before you can take part.
Keep it safe and professional#
This is a public, named community, so the same standards apply here as on the shop floor:
- Keep it general. Don't name, rate or criticise specific pharmacies, employers or individuals.
- Be respectful. No abuse, spam, advertising or sharing others' personal data.
Never post patient-identifiable information
Don't post patient-identifiable or confidential information — no names, no clinical details, nothing that could identify a patient. As a registrant, the GPhC's Demonstrating professionalism online guidance applies to what you post here. If something crosses a line, use Report on the post and the moderators will take a look.
